Hello!
I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University. As a member of the Activate Engineering Communication Program team, I teach courses in workplace communication and assist with Activate’s communication coaching program.

As a researcher, I work at the intersections of argumentation, accessibility, and advocacy, particularly as they come alive in educational contexts. I have taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in rhetoric, writing, and communication; I also work as a freelance communication consultant, copy editor, and discourse analyst. I received my Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University. Before coming to Rice, I held a faculty positions at Tulane University and the University of Southern California.
